Overview
Search judge-level filing rules for federal and state judges, plus privacy enforcement actions with fines. Access via REST API and MCP server for legal teams and AI tools.

Q&A
- What courts are covered?
- Federal district courts, judge procedure pages, state court resource pages, local trial court pages, and court holiday calendars. Each federal judge's individual rules, standing orders, and filing requirements come from source PDFs and are traced to specific pages and sections.
- What rules are tracked per judge?
- Page limits, word limits, formatting requirements, courtesy copy rules, e-filing procedures, motion practice procedures (pre-motion conferences, letter briefs), discovery dispute procedures, and chambers preferences. Each rule is traced to its source document, page number, and section.
- What is a compliance check?
- Upload a PDF filing and specify the judge. The API classifies the document type, counts pages and words, then checks every applicable rule for that judge. Returns pass/fail/action-required for each rule with the specific limit and your document's measurement.
- What enforcement data is available?
- Structured records of privacy enforcement actions from the FTC, HHS (HIPAA), and state attorneys general. Each event includes the entity, fine amount, violation types, laws cited, remedies, and a link to the official government source.
- How do I access the data programmatically?
- Through the MCP server at mcp.courtrules.app or the REST API at api.courtrules.app. MCP works with Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Windsurf, and Codex CLI. Scripts and the REST API use the API key on your dashboard, which does not expire.
