Yes, Essential is free forever, not a trial. It carries real monthly caps on invoices, customers, storage and team members. Everything created on it stays yours if you later upgrade.

What happens when I hit a plan cap?

You are warned starting at 80% of a cap. At 100%, creating that one thing pauses until the month rolls over or you upgrade. Nothing is deleted and everything else keeps working.

Can I switch or cancel plans anytime?

Yes. Upgrades take effect immediately through Stripe checkout. Plan switches and cancellations run through the billing portal. A cancelled workspace pauses at the end of the paid period—nothing is deleted—and picking a plan again resumes it exactly where it stood.

Do you take a cut of card payments?

No. Card payments on invoices run through your own Stripe account and Papertools adds no fee on top. You pay only Stripe's own processing rates. Online payments are on Business and up.

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

Nothing is purged. If the subscription lapses the workspace pauses rather than losing anything. Your records stay intact and updating the payment method or resubscribing resumes everything exactly as it was.
