- No. The free tier requires only an email address or Google/GitHub login. No credit card is needed, and the free tier never expires. You can upgrade to a paid plan when you need higher limits.
- Where does the exchange rate data come from?
- The rates are mid-market rates aggregated from institutional foreign exchange market data with no retail markup applied. Every official source and its publication page is listed on the data sources page.
- How often are rates updated?
- Rates are updated every 60 seconds and fetched live on each API request. Most free competitors only update once daily from the ECB.
- Is there a free tier?
- Yes, the free plan is enough for development, prototyping, and low-traffic apps. Paid plans start at €4.99/month for 5,000 requests.
- Do you have SDKs for my language?
- Yes. Official SDKs are provided for JavaScript/TypeScript via npm, Python via PyPI, PHP via Packagist, Rust via crates.io, and a React component library. There are also dedicated npm packages for each central bank feed, and all SDKs are open source on GitHub.
