naulon is a citation toll that charges AI agents in USDC when they read your work, while keeping human readers free. When an AI agent opens your article, naulon's gate charges the toll in USDC and pays you directly to a wallet you control, with no middleman. You set the price per read and a citation multiplier for when agents cite you. Payments settle on-chain through Circle Gateway in USDC, and naulon never holds your funds. You can run the toll on your own domain, a naulon subdomain, or through your own app with no code changes needed.

- The buyer pays you directly in USDC the moment the toll clears, credited to an address you control. Payments settle on-chain through Circle Gateway, and you can withdraw to any address whenever you like. naulon never holds the money.
- Do humans ever pay to read?
- No. The gate's classifier tolls only automated agents, so people who visit your site read free.
- Do I have to change my stack or move my DNS?
- No. You can claim a naulon.app subdomain and be tollable in minutes with nothing to install. To toll your own domain, you prove you own it and add a record pointing at naulon. Your nameservers stay where they are, or you can enforce the toll inside your own app instead.
- How is naulon different from other AI toll platforms?
- Two key ways: naulon settles custody-free, with money going directly from buyer to author, while other platforms act as merchant of record and hold funds. And naulon pays the author directly, not just the domain, down to per-citation splits between co-authors. You also choose where the gate runs: point your DNS at naulon, enforce it inside your own app, or run the open-source gate on your own server.
- What does custody-free actually mean?
- Settlement is buyer to author, on-chain, in one payment. The funds never land with us. The operator fee is its own transfer in that same quote, never a cut of a pool we hold.
